BUYING A PROPERTY: Expat and /or Investors

Buying a property in a land or area when you are not a 'native’ can be difficult. If your knowledge of the language and the quirks of the local housing market in the Netherlands is limited it can be daunting.

Should you wish to buy a property either as an investment or as your own home that can be rented out when you leave the Netherlands then there are other requirements than your own personal preferences. We can help you see the property through the eyes of future tenants.

With our experience working with Expats, coupled with our knowledge of this region and the property market (both rental and buying) you can be sure we will guide you easily through the buying process.

What will we do for you?:

  • Make an appointment with a financial advisor, offering expert tailor made advice for expats or Dutch citizens;
  • List and prioritise your requirements, based on the budget/mortgage possibilities;
  • Search for a suitable property together with you, discussing each option and if applicable the expected rental income;
  • Organise and guide the property viewings;
  • Investigate and give advice with regards to: structural condition of the chosen property, the general condition of the property, the market value and location;
  • Investigate and give advice with regard to: the legal and financial aspects of the chosen property;
  • Investigate and give advice with regard to: local development plans, environmental aspects, land register, owners’ associations, local and provincial regulations and energy label;
  • Discuss and implement the negotiation strategy on your behalf;
  • Verify the sale contract and associated documents;
  • Carry out the final inspection prior to the exchange and transfer;
  • Be present at the exchange and transfer of the property.
